Sea Kayaking
We have Sea Kayaks for rent in the summer and peaceful waters to explore nearby.
Gentle Way To See Nature
Want to explore the fjord by kayak? You can rent a kayak from us, along with all the necessary equipment for a fantastic day on the water.
Starting out from Elvegård you’re within reach of several islands, beaches, and hidden bays. The township of Grov is only 2km across the water, or take a longer route following the shoreline. Expect to see lots of seabirds nesting on the cliffs along the way.
Tidal flows are very gentle offshore from Elvegård, but can be stronger once you reach the township of Grov where the channel is narrow. Check the tides when crossing into the bottom of the fjord. Paddling inside the fjord is very peaceful, and there's a small island called Forøya that is worth visiting or stopping for lunch.
You can also just stay close to the camp when kayaking. Our section of the fjord is very quiet, with good shelter from the southerly and easterly winds. To the north of the camp you can paddle close in to the shore for sheltered water and untouched nature.

Sea To Summit
More experienced kayakers may prefer a more demanding challenge. The island of Rolla is roughly 8km paddling from Elvegård. There are excellent walking trails here around the Dyngeneset Nature Reserve, and a challenging hike to Stortind på Drangen – The highest point on the island at roughly 1,000m.
