Sailing and fishing expeditions on a classic timber yacht

Fjord cruising for half a day around the local fjords and islands is a great way to enjoy our wooden boat. We can also plan longer adventures to Senja or Lofoten for sailing enthusiasts.

The fjords around Grov offer wonderful conditions for sailing, and even more enjoyable with a beautiful wooden boat. Our vessel was designed in the 1800s and fully restored about ten years ago. It's well equipped with modern technology and has plenty of space for groups of up to 12 guests.

Summer and Winter

People are often surprised to learn that we go sailing in the winter up here, but it's a great time of year to get on the water. The fishing season is very busy during summer which makes it hard for us to schedule sailing trips. Winter is very quiet on and off the water, but still lots to see and enjoy. Nature is always with us in Grov.

Sailing vs Motoring

The most beautiful days on the water are when the winter sun is with us, but sometimes they are too calm. If there isn't enough wind to make sail we cruise by motor instead.

It helps to have a few crew on board to sail our boat, so if you have experience with yachts then we can plan to take it slow and enjoy the power of the wind. We don't go very fast, but every day on the water is a good day.

Fully Prepared

Life jackets or survival suits are provided. Before departing we have a briefing at the reception area and a chance to suit up for the voyage. Tony will be at the helm of the boat. He has spent many years navigating the local waters.
